Carol was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on March 28, 1933 to Arthur and Mary Kluttz.
She was a graduate of Catawba College.
Carol was mother to Bill (Donna) and David (Melanie). She raised her children with love and devotion with her late husband William B. Dunnagan. Besides her children, Carol is survived by her sister, Doris Blanchard (Hampton, Virginia) and brother, Warren Kluttz (Nebo, North Carolina). Carol will be greatly missed by four loving grandchildren, Jason (Tori), Danielle, Maureen (Garrett), Seth (Katherine) and one great grandson, Ford. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was a Social Worker for school systems in both Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Fernandina Beach, Florida. Following the death of her husband, Carol was instrumental in bringing the grief support program, Stephen Ministries, to Memorial United Methodist Church. Carol was also devoted to comforting patients at Baptist Medical Center Hospital where she volunteered as an associate chaplain for 26 years.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church on Friday, July 30th.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 31st when she will be laid to rest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Memorial United Methodist Church can be made in Carol’s name.
