He was born in Forsyth County on April 24, 1934 to the late Elisha and Elizabeth Ladd. Mr. Clay proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was a former member of Forsyth Gem and Mineral Club. Mr. Clay was a dedicated member of Faith United Methodist Church 1645 Griffin Rd Rural Hall NC where he served.
Surviving are his sons, Jonathan Ladd and Jeffrey Ladd; brother, Thurman (Pauline) Ladd; sister, Wanda Eller; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ladd; brother, Spencer (Dot) Ladd; sisters, Margaret (George) Betts, Shirley Ladd, and Beulah (Foy)Worrell ; and brother-in-law, Bill Eller.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 1pm at Faith Methodist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11am. Mr. Ladd will be laid to rest on March 2nd at 1pm at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
