Don was born on August 2, 1941 in Forsyth County to the late Houston Daniel Goodwin and Paulette McKnight Goodwin. He worked for the Winston-Salem Journal for 45 years in the mailroom in production. Don enjoyed golfing and bowling in his spare time. He also enjoyed watching his daughters play soft
ball when they were young and even coached a few seasons at South Little League. Spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gave Don the most joy. He was a true family man. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Wanda Campbell Goodwin; daughters, Sherry (Sean) Flynn and their children, Dalton Sarah and Patrick Flynn; Melissa (Missy) Crews, her children, Jordan Goodwin Espina, and Matthew Crews; great grandchildren, Andrew Espina, Riley Espina and Ariana Crews; a sister-in-law, Jean Goodwin, along with many nieces, nephews and loved ones. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
