

He was born July 26, 1932, in Passaic, New Jersey, to the late Joseph and Katherine Schweighart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Schweighart, brother, Joseph Schweighart, Jr, his sons, Michael Schweighart and Donald Schweighart, Jr., and stepdaughter, Amanda Moser.
Donald served in the Korean War in the United States Army. He retired from Rexam Aluminum Can after over 45 years of service as a Master Machinist. He enjoyed camping, trout fishing, and tying flies.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Schweighart, of the home; sons, Joe, John, Thomas, and Richard Schweighart (wife Traci); daughter, Katherine Mary York (husband Ronny); grandchildren, Melissa Mitchell (husband John), Joshua Schweighart, Matthew Schweighart (wife Alyce), Jennifer Nolen (husband James), Patrick Schweighart (wife Maggie), Elizabeth Schweighart, Connor Schweighart, Noah Schweighart, and Kendra York; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Levi, Ryan, Lorelai, Anne, and Patrick, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 335 Springdale Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC, with Father Christian Goduti officiating. A Graveside Service, with US Army Military Honors, will be held at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3815 Yadkinville Road, Winston-Salem, NC at 12:30pm.
