Donald Wayne Treece (Porter)

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, brother Andy Treece, and sister Kimberly Treece. He is survived by his wife Sandra Scarlette, as well as his siblings, Rhonda K Ratcliffe (husband Steve) and David Porter. Donnie leaves behind his children, Cassie, Ashleigh, Crystal (husband Paul), Hope (husband Tim) and Blade; grandchildren, Trinity, Alyssa, Allie, Grace, Gibson and Garrett; and numerous cousins, nieces, a nephew and an overwhelming amount of friends who will forever treasure the memories and moments they shared with him.

Donnie had a love for music and was a drummer, and was ALWAYS drumming something. He was in several bands including his most current one, Southern Reload. He loved performing and entertaining as well as just going to weekly jam sessions to “play his bongos” with his bandmates and friends.

He also enjoyed sports, especially football. He was All American at Randleman High School and went on to attend and play at Clemson University on a scholarship. A lifelong fan of Clemson, he attended several events and games with his wife, family and friends through the years. He enjoyed tailgating, making new friends and visiting old friends and took great pride in being a Clemson Tiger.

Donnie was a spiritual man who had a great love and strong faith in the Lord. He welcomed conversation in his beliefs and shared his love of Christianity with others.

To honor and celebrate Donnie’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held at Vogler Funeral & Cremations in Winston Salem, NC on Wednesday, August 5th from 6pm to 8pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, to share stories, and to celebrate the love and laughter he brought to those around him. In keeping with his spirit, guests are encouraged to wear Clemson attire, or orange and purple if possible. The service will be casual in nature, reflecting the warmth and ease with which Donnie lived his life. Donnie will be laid to rest at Forsyth Memorial Park on Thursday, August 6th at 1pm.

Flowers are welcomed, or in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Trellis Hospice House – 101 Hospice Lane in Winston Salem, NC in honor and memory of Donnie. Their care, support and assistance with his final days is so appreciated by Donnie’s family and friends.

Donnie will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered by all who knew him.
