Howard was born in Cumberland County, North Carolina on August 18, 1945 to the late Howard Simpson Yost and Elizabeth McNeill Yost.
He was dedicated to his beloved dogs and a highly regarded American Kennel Club judge. Howard bred champion English Crocker Spaniels. For over 50 years, Howard was a member of Forsyth Kennel Club, holding every position on the Board during his service. He most recently became a distinguished lifetime member. Howard also belonged to Furniture City Kennel Club and Carolina Kennel Club.
Howard leaves behind his brother, Duncan (Donna) Yost, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard was a lifelong member of St Paul's Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Monday, April 27th at 10am.
