With the loss of Jay, his friends and family have lost a truly unique soul who loved to entertain. Jay captivated the attention and hearts of anyone he met.
Jay was born in Orange County, California. He had an immense passion to be around others. Jay always wanted to entertain, hosting events at his home, even turning his downstairs into a casino for his friends to hang out.
He loved to travel. And Jay loved to eat. Jay loved traveling around and seeing new places and trying new food. Into his travels he also got to incorporate one of his other loves-sports. Jay loved sports, especially baseball. He loved visiting each field. Jay had a goal to attend a game at each baseball field. He even caught a fly ball in Pittsburg (PNC field). Everyone who knew Jay, knew he was a diehard Dodgers fan and a diehard Broncos fan. Jay was a truly giving person, always willing to help, always there for his friends.
Of all his loves though, Jay loved his kids the most. Jay leaves behind his children, Jason Ly and Mya Ly; his mom, Karen Zelinka; his life-time girlfriend, Diane Castillo; his closest friend, Martin Van Dusen; his childhood friend, Alex Akbar; his second family, Annie, Luis, Hector, and Jose Romero; his dogs, Soxx, Dummy, CiCi, and Bumpy; and so many close friends.
Jay’s life will be celebrated in a private gathering.
