John was born in Winston-Salem, NC to Norman and Barbara Mabe.
He was preceded in by his father, Norman, and brothers, Norman "Sonny" Jr. and David.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debra Mabe; mother, Barbara Mabe; sister, Jeanne "Beth" Mabe; sister-in-law, Carol Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was a self-employed master craftsman. He was admired for the beautiful creations he made as a stone mason and builder. John raced motorcycles including motocross and hard track, winning numerous trophies. He loved visiting the coast and dreamed of one day living there. John loved the Lord and his family. He had an exceptional personality and will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank the personnel at Baptist CCU for the excellent care and compassion shown during this difficult period.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 11:00AM at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, NC.
