John Merritt Jr.

He was born December 26, 1921 in Forsyth Co., a son of John S. and Clara E. Pendry Merritt. He married Ruby Catherine Money in 1942. She preceded him in death in 1984.

Survivng are one daughter, Sandra Stephenson of Danville, VA; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a Carpenter and a Minister.

He attended Pleasent View Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Frank Vogler and Sons Reynolda Road Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.

Frank Vogler and Sons Reynolda Road Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
