Joy Wood Ward

Joy W. Ward, 62, of Wilkesboro, died Monday (3/8/2010) at the Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Born March 14, 1947 in Wilkes County, she retired from the Forsyth County Schools where she worked in food services and transportation. She had also worked with Lowes Builders Supply and the Moravian Home.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margie (Alexander) Wood. Surviving her is her daughter Kristi W. Alvey and her husband Jonathan of Lugoff, SC; granddaughters Jessica and Claire; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be conducted on Wednesday (3/10/2010) 11:00 AM at the Bethania Moravian Church, 5545 Main Street (336-922-1284) with Wayne Byerly officiating. Interment Forsyth Memorial Park.

The family prefers, if you wish, contributions to the Bethania Moravian Church in Memory of Joy W. Ward.
