He was born in Forsyth County on September 16, 1955 to the late John Walter Petticord and Ruby Kathryn Griffin. Kim graduated from North Forsyth High School before furthering his education at Piedmont Aerospace Institute.
After college, he went to work for R J Reynolds Tobacco Company. After many years at Reynolds, Kim retired in 2010 and went to work at Salem Electric Company as a contractor. Kim worked for Salem Electric until 2025. He volunteered at Vienna Rescue Squad for several years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dennis Petticord.
The family will have a visitation from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park.
