Leroy (Sonny) Stanley, III, 69, passed away June 26, 2023 at his home. He was born June 15, 1954 in Forsyth County. Sonny had a special love of flying, his guitars and music, scuba diving and most recently boating at the beach on his beloved boat "St. Val's Gal" that he had rebuilt himself. He was fun loving and will be eternally missed especially by his devoted wife of 44 years, Valerie Rickard Stanley of Winston-Salem and Little River, SC; his son, Stephen of Little River, S.C; his daughter, Allison of Linden, NJ; and 4 grandchildren, Aaron, Reba, Logan and Hunter.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Forsyth Memorial Park.
