Linda Frazier Church

March 5, 1949October 6, 2013

Once diagnosed with breast cancer five and a half years ago, Lyn Church never gave up! She never complained and endured radiation, chemotherapy and surgery with a fighting strength that never wavered. She died on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC.

Lyn (Linda) Frazier Church was born March 5, 1949 in Wilkes County, NC, the daughter of J.D. and Bernice Nichols Frazier. She graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 1967 and went on to receive her B.S. in Accounting from Appalachian State University. She married Henry Wayne Church on February 15, 1975.

Lyn and Henry met while both worked at Lowe’s Companies. Lyn retired in 1985 from her position as Manager of Store Financial Accounting. She joined Henry in their graphic design business, and they worked side-by-side for 18 years. In 2000 she decided to devote her time to grandkids and family, especially grandkids.

Filled with compassion and interest in others, Lyn made friends easily and was a beloved member of her neighborhood community of Brookberry Farm. Lyn was an avid fitness “nut” and maintained an ambitious workout routine as long as she could. She loved a great cup of coffee and a cold glass of Chardonnay and even more so if it was shared with family and friends.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by: her devoted husband of 39 years, Henry; her mother, Bernice Frazier; her sister, Debbie McKenzie and her husband Erwin; her children Michelle Caldwell, Chad Caldwell and his wife Kelly, Jeff Church and his wife Cynthia, and Autumn Nicoletti and her husband Mike; her adoring grandchildren, Brooke, Hannah, Emma, Clayton, Nicolas, Michael ‘Enzo’, and Alexis ‘Lexi’; and her loving nephew, John Erwin.

You may join the family in your brightest colors to celebrate Lyn’s colorful life on Thursday, October 10 at the Brookberry Farm Clubhouse at 5567 Brookberry Farm Road, Winston-Salem. Fellowship with the family will begin at 5:30 pm followed by a brief memorial service at 7:00 pm at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made to Hospice of Forsyth County in appreciation of the love and wonderful care that were given to Lyn and her family in her final days.
