Linda was born on November 29, 1940 in High Point, NC to Everett Burton and Doris Keever Burton. Both parents and her younger brother, Jeffrey Alan Burton, are deceased; as well as her husband, Paul.
Linda is survived by her sister, Beth Burton of Morganton, NC and cousins, Melanie McBryde, Julie Hughes, and Ken Keever.
Linda served briefly in the US Navy before returning to NC to work in food service in Winston Salem, caring for elderly citizens in their homes, Integon Insurance Co., receptionist at the Red Cross main office, and Yadkin Co. school cafeterias.
She learned to be a help to others in need by observing her mother and father as well as attending church regularly. As an adult, Linda loved helping children, rescuing dogs and cats, volunteering in her community Red Cross, and volunteering with the fire rescue team. She also volunteered in the kitchen at her church, First Baptist of Yadkinville. She was an active member of the local chapter of the Moose Lodge, Women of the Moose, serving as Senior Regent and Chairperson of Moose Charities.
Linda will be laid to rest at Forsyth Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a favorite family charity, The American Red Cross.
