

Linda was born on May 3, 1943 in Stokes County to Paul and Clara Sheppard. She attended Westfield High School where she was All County in basketball. Linda attended Guilford College and received her BA in Education and Sociology. She also received her Masters of Education from the University of South Carolina.
Linda was known for her generous heart of giving to others with cards, gifts, and telephone calls. She loved to shop, whether it be for herself, her friends, or family. Linda loved her cats and spending time with her family at their mountain house at BelAir Springs, where they met many cherished friends. She was also treasurer of the Owners Association there.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Gay. She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Owen Phillips; son, Chad Phillips; three brothers, Kerry (Carol) Sheppard, Mitch (Kathy) Sheppard, and Craig (Janet) Sheppard; and many other loved ones and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice for all the wonderful staff and caregivers.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, June 25th from 3-5 pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Rd. Winston-Salem, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Linda Phillips Memorial Fund at BelAir Springs Owners Association, C/O Brad Davis, 19927 River Falls Dr, Davidson, NC 28036. The donations will be used to help others in the community she loved.
