Marie Ellen Simmons

She is survived by her husband, of 33 years, Douglas (Sam) Simmons, her mother, Norma Segraves, a sister, Becky Dunn (Tim) and an extended family including numerous in-laws, Robert “Bob” Sellers (Evelyn), Billy Sellers (Sandra), Marvin Sellers (Nancy), Alice Best (Guy), Judy Simmons (Joe), Donnie Simmons (Angie) and her loving dog “Fancy” who will truly miss her.

Marie was born September 21, 1947 to David and Norma Segraves. She was a graduate of North Forsyth High School and Lees-McRae College with a Nursing Degree. She retired from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after 42 years of service.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, David Segraves, brother-in-law Vernon Sellers (Barbara) and mother-in-law Mable Seller Simmons. Marie was of the Moravian faith.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 at 10:00a.m. with Rev. Bob Matthews and Rev. Charles Tyler officiating at Forsyth Memorial Park.

The family request that memorials be made to the charity of their choice in memory of Marie.
