

Marshall was born in Concord, North Carolina on May 19, 1936 to the late Marshall Edward Miller and Theo Miller. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from NC State University. Marshall worked for RJ Reynolds tobacco for 34 years, retiring as an environmental management engineer.
Marshall proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He was a devoted member of New Hope Methodist Church for 50 years. During his membership, Marshall was a Sunday School teacher over 20 years, lay leader for the pastor, and singer in the choir. He was also a member of Kiwanis and Toast Masters.
In his spare time, Marshall enjoyed reading and studying history, being out on the water boating, fishing, or visiting the beach, playing tennis and softball, and most impressively, woodworking. He was a talented carpenter who could make just about anything.
Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Blakley Miller, as well as nine nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Wilkerson and Alice Allison.
Marshall will be laid to rest in a private service at Forsyth Memorial Park. The service will be officiated by Pastor Daniel Vance Miller.
