Mary Wallace Callison

Mary was born on April 3, 1926, in Corrington, TN a daughter to the late, Frank and Elizabeth Duggan Wallace. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Guy Callison, Jr. (Cal), a sister, Dorothy Acuff and husband, Charlie, granddaughter, Kacie Chidester and daughter-in-law, Patricia Callison.

Mary enjoyed spending her time reading, working crossword puzzles, and watching NASCAR. She was an avid sports fan and loved her Tennessee Volunteers and Carolina Panthers. Mary had a great sense of humor and made many friends. She made sure that her family was most important in her life.

She leaves behind four children; Michael Callison and wife, Sandy of Winston-Salem, Patrice Chidester and husband, Doug of Winston-Salem, Gregory Callison of Spencer, NC, and Tracy Hoffman and husband, Eric of Redondo Beach, CA; six grandchildren, Angela Callison McLeod and husband, Chris, Nicole Deaton and husband, Denny, Troy Chidester and wife, Autumn, Logan Chidester, Caitlin Hoffman, and Callison Hoffman; four great grandchildren, Stephanie Comer and husband, Chase, Spencer McLeod, Dylan Deaton and June Deaton; two great great-grandchildren, Nickolas Comer and Dawson Comer; and step grandson, James Brian Hawley and partner, Eric and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice and Palliative Care 101 Hospice Lane, W/S, NC 27103 or to The Forsyth Humane Society 61 Miller Street, W/S, NC 27104.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Brighton Gardens for the love, care, and support provided to our mother during her last four years while in your care.
