Mary Evelyn Bell Plummer

Mary Evelyn Bell Plummer, age 93, of Winston Salem, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Evelyn was born February 24, 1929 in Statesville, NC, the daughter of the late William Clyde Bell and Oma Travis Bell. She was also preceded in death by her husband Calvin E. Plummer and son Michael; two older sisters, Catherine and Pauline, who died in infancy; four brothers, Boyce, Carroll (Buddy), Bruce, and Donald Bell.

She is survived by a daughter Dianne Orrell (Frank) of Advance, NC; daughter-in-law Marianne Plummer of Yadkinville, NC; four grandchildren, Jenny Plummer, Chris Duggins (Dee), Tanya Bryan (Frankie), and Anthony Duggins (Heather); six great-grandchildren, Megan Fredericks (Tim), Nathan and Blake Bryan, Christian and Faith Duggins, and Austin Duggins; and one sister Dorothy Davis who resides in Forest, VA. There are also several surviving nieces and nephews who were very special to her, and a sister-in-law Carolyn Bell.

She attended Kings Business College in Charlotte, NC and worked for many years in accounting. She retired from World Citrus Company in 1991.

She was a faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Organization for many years.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 31 at 2:00pm at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, NC. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the New Hope United Methodist Church, 5125 Shattalon Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27106-2128, or to Salemtowne Retirement Community, 1000 Salemtowne Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
