Merinda was a kind-hearted person who found joy in the simple things in life. She loved collecting ceramics and stuffed animals, and she had a special place in her heart for cats. Her love for animals was just one of the many things that made her who she was.
Merinda worked for Old Town Elementary School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for 20 years. She cared deeply about the people she worked with and the school community she was a part of for so many years.
She also loved to cook and enjoyed bringing people together through food. Her collections, her love of animals, and the things she enjoyed may have seemed simple, but they were a big part of what made Merinda uniquely herself.
Merinda was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Paige Thompson and Jimmy Lee Thompson.
She is survived by her brother, Michael Lee Thompson, along with family and friends who will remember her for her caring heart, her love of cats and stuffed animals, her collections, and the many years she shared with those around her.
Merinda will be missed dearly and remembered with love.
