WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Our beloved mom, Milagros “Millie” Gonzalez, (73) passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, several months after achieving remission from a successful year long battle with cancer. She was born in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico to the late Rufino and Evangelista Gonzalez.
Our beautiful mother “Millie” grew up surrounded by her large family of 9 other siblings of which three remain, Ismael, Ramona, and Manuel. Millie is survived by her two children Mariel and Cesar, her son in-law Rodney and daughter in-law Gila and seven grandchildren Andrew, Gabriel, Naomi, Carlos, Ezaiah, Alexia and Leah whom she adored.
Millie loved to paint, she loved the beach, to paint scenery of the beach, to read her bible, to share the gospel with any that would listen. She loved spending time with her family and praise and worship with her friends at church. As a person she was tough she persevered through countless adversities armed with her faith and grit. As a mom she was consoling and wise and got us through many of life’s brutal challenges. She really is our hero.
The legacy she leaves is that her children and grandchildren love the Lord and each other.
Thanks mom.
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
Psalms 91: 14-16
All are welcome to pay respects to Millie on Friday, May 10th, 2024, from 5-7pm at the viewing and/or the Chapel service on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, beginning at 12 pm. Our beloved brother Rev.
