Teresa Brown Hartman of Winston-Salem, aged 76, died Nov 29th peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a long and brave battle with cancer. Born in Kingstree, SC, Terry always recalled a happy childhood growing up in Ardmore with her 10 siblings. She attended school at Our Lady of Mercy, Bishop McGuiness and Parkland High where she met her husband of 46 years, Mickey.
Among her many talents and interests, Terry was an avid reader, an enthusiastic traveler who visited national parks and ancient cities with equal wonder, a Salem College graduate and advocate for Winston-Salem’s historic preservation, a lovely and loving mother and grandmother and a comfort and joy to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Wendy, Alex, and Taylor, daughter in law, Carolina Holden, 8 beloved grandchildren, sisters Sharon Watson, Charlene McClements, Rosemary Hibbits, Jan Shouse, brothers Matt, Brian and Jamie, sisters-in law Cherry Hartman and Wanda Walker, 30 nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.
Funeral Services will be held on December 22 at 11 am at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, where she has been a faithful member of the parish for over 50 years.
