

Vic was born on March 2, 1943 in Forsyth County to the late Vernon Esta and Irene Boger Conrad. He retired from RJ Reynolds as a Supervisor of Quality Assurance.
Vic always had a good time. He loved picking and laughing with his family and his friends. He was gifted with a beautiful voice and the talent to play guitar like no other. Music meant so much to him. He played with various bands throughout his life. Vic was on the radio by age 14. Even as he got older, he would play every Friday night across the southeast.
When not playing music, you could find Vic in the mountains. He looked forward to his time hunting and fishing. He even rebuilt a cabin with his son-in- law Monty in Galax to ensure he had a place to go. He also owned and operated East Bend Archery Shop where he helped to coach young archers, many from Forbush High School who went on to compete for National Championships.
Above all, Vic loved being a dad and papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He shared his love of hunting with his grandchildren. Vic also shared his love of softball/baseball with them. He made every baseball game he could. He was so proud to see his grandson Adam sign with the San Diego Padres.
Vic leaves behind his children, Shannon Conrad and Dee Dee Forrest; grandchildren, Adam Conrad, Thomas Conrad, Hunter Conrad, Savannah (Robert) Chapman, Seth (Abby) Childress, Kendra (Tony) Widner, Casey Forrest, and Seth (Brooke) Forrest; great grandchildren, Jake, Max and Dru Widner, Cayman Forrest-Pruitt, and Keaton, Beckham, and Easton Forrest; special friend, Anne Miller; and numerous other loved ones and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail R. Conrad; daughter Robin B. Day, daughter-in-law, Dana M. Conrad; and son-in-law, Monty Forrest.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 11 a.m. at Vogler Funeral & Cremations. The family will receive friends for a visitation before the service at 10 a.m.
