Virginia (Ginny) Stepper Brittain was born on February 25, 1927 in Hildebran, NC to Ethel E. Rogers. She was later adopted by her step-father, Frank Stepper. Ginny grew up in Washington, DC where she and her best friends, Jean, Shirley, and Betty, spent many hours at some of the upper-scale DC hotel pools hoping to meet a movie star! After graduation from high school, she began working with the federal government, first with the Department of Transportation, and later after she moved to Winston-Salem, the National Labor Relations Board.
Ginny was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, her brother, William Francis (Bill) Stepper whom she adored, and her husband of 40 years, Aubrey Brittain. She is survived by her daughter, Susan, of Clemmons, her son, Bill of Winston-Salem, and grand dog, Gingin. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and her special friend, Mattie Barney.
The family will receive friends and family from 1 – 2 PM on Tuesday, March 5 at Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3815 Yadkinville Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 followed by a graveside service at 2 PM conducted by her daughter and the Rev. Ginny Wilder.
