OBITUARY

William "Bill" Tise III

April 10, 1947 – September 14, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park

William C. “Bill” Tise III passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 78.

Bill attended Northern Arizona University before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy as a Radioman. Stationed in Long Beach, California, he made several overseas deployments, skillfully operating telecommunications equipment and ensuring communication lines remained strong.

Following his military service, Bill returned home to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Over the years, he worked in a variety of roles, continually expanding his skills, before beginning a long and successful career with Piedmont Airlines. Through company mergers, Bill continued his work with US Air and later American Airlines, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Bill had a deep appreciation for nature and a lifelong love of sports—especially golf. One of his greatest passions was amateur radio. Known to many in the ham radio community, Bill spent countless hours talking “skip” and connecting with people around the world. On more than one occasion, he used his radio skills to relay important messages to those in rural areas without phone service, always eager to lend a helping hand.

Bill is survived by his sons, Shane Tise and Dustin Tise, and by his beloved grandchildren, Kiwi Au-Tise, Coco Au-Tise, and Herculine Au-Tise.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Lee Reynolds, with whom he shared a close and loving bond throughout their lives.

Bill Tise will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His children and grandchildren will continue to honor his memory and make him proud.

Written with love and respect by his former spouse, Deborah King.
