What a wonderful person ! Bill and Dinah were great friends of my parents , Harold and Marian Mitchell.  They are also friends with me and family , here in Michigan . My mom and Bill were cousins  Visiting  with them in Florida was always a great time for my  Mom and Dad. 
 His hospitality and  kindness, made everyone welcome.

Bill was a supportive friend,  celebrating with and sharing in the joy of his friend’s lives.  He and Dinah came to Georgia to see Hannah at the hospital. ❤️

I met Bill in April 1977 when he began working at Disney. He was my boss, quickly becoming my mentor and friend. Bill was a straightforward individual who always adhered to work rules and regulations.  Off the clock, he was fun-loving and a bit of a joker.  Throughout my career, he provided invaluable advice and guidance.  Bill was a devoted family man who loved his wife, Dinah, their children Jeff and Barbara, and his grandchildren. I will miss his Christmas cards, the accompanying photos of cows, and his signature corny sayings like 'Party till the cows come home'.  

Our sincere condolences to Dinah, Jeff, Barbara, grandchildren and the rest of the family.

I will never forget how it made him feel when we made the video “There is nothing like Bill Dammes”. I know he played it hundreds of times for probably hundreds of people! Bill, you truly will be missed…and there “will” never be anyone like you! Love to Dinah and your entire family. 💕

My deepest condolences go out to Dinah and family. Bill was a great man with a lot of knowledge in the insurance industry. I worked with Bill for many years, and he brought me into the Guest Claims Department and encouraged me go further with my career, he was one of my Mentors.
Bill will be missed on earth, but he will be welcomed with opened arms (wings) into the gates of Heaven.

Bill enjoyed birthdays and special occasions at Hollerbach’s Willow Tree German Restaurant in Sanford. This photo was taken with one of the musicians.

Bill and I first met in 1954 while playing on Denby’s junior varsity basketball team. Bill was the shortest on the team but made up for it with his superior ball handling.  We became close friends over the years as he attended Western Michigan while I attended Michigan State University.

After Bill and Dinah moved to Florida in 1969, Laura and I visited his family in Brandon, Florida, with our two boys and daughter.  When Bill began working for Disney in 1977, our family spent time in Florida each winter with many memorable days at Disney World. Bill went out of his way to ensure everyone had the best experience at Disney.

As the years progressed, Laura and I went on several Caribbean cruises with Bill and Dinah.  We had a memorable trip with two other high school couples in the western US, including the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas and California.  Every summer, Bill and Dinah vacationed in northern Michigan on Lake Skegemog near Elk Rapids; Laura and I spent time with them at their cottage there.

Bill and I enjoyed playing cribbage and had many spirited matches over the years using his special canoe-shaped cribbage board.  Bill loved to use the word “super”–to this day when we use that word, Bill’s smiling face and positive attitude fill our minds.  Bill was responsible for keeping our Denby group of 6-8 guys together for the Denby reunions and outings in northern Michigan until just a few years ago.

Bill was truly my closest friend, and I will miss him greatly. Laura and I send our prayers and love to Dinah and her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Bill's death.  I hope he didn't suffer.  I know Bill is a child of God and he is where we all hope to be someday.  I think of all the good times we shared, bridge, camping, Disney, etc.

Bill was involved in our 50+ Aerobics Class at St. Luke’s Methodist Church. They had a pumpkin patch every year and our group would do a photo shoot together. There’s Bill right in the middle. He took the same spot in the gym where we held class and was so full of energy that when people saw him come in they’d move away because he traveled everywhere on the aerobic floor LOL 😂! I’ll never forget at our Christmas party different folks were given different parts of the song from the 12 Days of Christmas which I modified the words to our exercise class and of course Bill sang  the part five gold rings and his part was “ I can’t get out of bed!” He had a great sense of humor and just a kind heart. Love you Bill! Heaven will never be the same!

Bill joined my aerobic classes and was such a hoot! We celebrating Octogenarian Birthdays in this picture. Who would have known he was 80?? He acted like he was 40 something!!

Easter 2024 and plastic eggs…  
Coloring eggs at Easter time was always a big thing for Daddy.  Although not convinced it was really coloring eggs when using plastic eggs, Daddy was always up for an adventure and indulged my mother and I with honest eagerness.  
An adventure it was!  The mess (it was so very messy), the fun, and laughter at this new adventure is a memory that will stick with me forever.  It was a day of family togetherness that was throughly enjoyed all!

Carol and I are saddened by the loss of our dear friend Bill. I met Bill in 1961 when I was pledging Alpha Kappa Psi. He was a friendly guy that you could have meaningful conversations with. He was in our wedding and created some wonderful memories from that event. As time marched on and we started families, we would visit Bill and Dinah in Florida. We spent many hours at Disney, and we had some special times together at Disney Quest with Jeff and Jonathan competing against the pirate attraction. What we loved about Bill was that he wanted to do things the right way, we all knew that he worked hard at Disney to treat customers so they would always want to return in the future for more good times. He was an honest, ethical and good Christian man. We miss him. Carol & I send our Condolences to Dinah and The Dammes Family.   Bob Utley

I know Bill as a fellow Walt Disney employee.  He was such a fun person to be around.   He will always be a special person.  I have pictures of us at Christmas parties that i , still, love to look at . What this world needs is a lot more people like Bill. May he rest in peace.

Uncle Bill loved his family very much, and we are blessed to have been a part of his extended family. Here he is holding his great nephew Chris.
