Billy Joe McHan

Born May 20th, 1939 - in Heaven September 12th, 2026

Born in Walker County, Georgia, to Bascom Grady and Ada Beatrice McHan, he was the youngest of five children: Bernie, Willard, Jean, and his twin sister Betty.

He started on the farm with tobacco and worked on neighboring farms with horses and other crops.

He was married to the love of his life in 1958, to his sweet Dottie. They had two children, Billy Jr and Gregory. Bill worked as a mechanic and truck driver. He also held many other jobs. He loved classic cars, fishing, and NASCAR. He loved to watch Westerns and The Three Stooges.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2021. They were married for 63 years. He is survived by his sister Betty, and his son Billy and his wife Lucie, his son Gregory and wife Denise, eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, and Papa's baby, Frickie.

Bill was a member of Central Nazarene, Apopka Nazarene, and is leaving his position at Park Ave Worship Center in good hands as Usher and Greeter and supplier of candy. He will be greatly missed but knowing he's with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven makes missing him much more bearable. Fly high, sweet Papa. Till we meet again.
