Charles A Long, age 85, passed away on December 21, 2019. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Jo Long who he married on August 8, 1953 in Winter Garden, Florida. He leaves behind a daughter, Sandra Diane Evans, and a son, Charles Michael Long. He affirmed his faith in God at the First Baptist Church of Linden with his wife, Mary. Charles was an accomplished block mason and brick mason. He owned his own business, C.A. Long’s Masonry, and built many homes throughout the Central Florida area over the years. Nearing his retirement, he focused on doing brick work and was sought after by many because of his dedication to excellence and craftsmanship. He loved fishing particularly with Mary and his grandsons, Frankie and Cody Evans, in Chokoloskee, Florida, their home away from home. The oldest of seven siblings, he was their hero. He was born on May 20, 1934 in Samson, Alabama to Jesse James Long and Nannie Estelle Booth. He was the backbone of the Long family and will be deeply missed. He is survived his son , Charles Michael Long of Winter Garden, Florida, daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Diane Evans and Frank Evans, of Orlando, Florida, grandsons, Frankie Evans, Jr., of Orlando, Charles Cody Evans of Cocoa, Florida; granddaughters, Amber Conaway; and great granddaughters Shayla Conaway and saige Bruce of of Winter Garden, Florida; brother, Bruce Long of Clermont, Florida, sisters Ernestine Hood, Christine Rutherford, Doris Kroeger, Trisha Harrison, Shirley Davenport.
