On April 13th 2021, Eunice Chijioke Chekwa, loving wife, mother of six children, grandmother of nine children, beloved sister, and spiritual mother to many, went on to be with God at the age of 70.

Eunice Chijoke Chekwa née Onyebuenyi was born August 18th, 1950 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Charles and Eunice moved to the United States in the 1970s. They got married on June 15th, 1978. They raised six children. Eunice is survived by her four sons, Uchechukwu, Chukwuma, Ikechukwu, and Chimdi; her two daughters, Blessing and Chinonye; her nine grandchildren, Tobenna, Simisola, Addyson, Elia, Elianna, Isaiah, Ivanna, Elisha, and Kaelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents Joel and Bernice Onyebuenyi and survived by her siblings Comfort, Emmanuel, Patience, Micheal and Abigail.

Eunice carried with her a peace that could be felt by those she encountered. She had a passion for helping people through prayer, serving and speaking life into their situations. This passion was deeply rooted in her fierce love of God. Even as a child she was known for putting others before herself. As a mother, she loved her kids and taught them how to love God, love life and that they could achieve anything. As an educator, she taught lessons to students both inside and outside the classroom. As a wife, she was a committed partner, whose actions daily displayed her love for her spouse. She and her husband of 43 years did everything together, including raising a family, founding and pastoring a church, administering healing, and providing food and shelter to countless people in need throughout the world. She was known for her sharp wisdom, loud laughter and compassionate spirit. She was fondly called mother by African and Asian widows. She is irreplaceable, we will miss her, but we know we will see her again.

There is so much that I could share about our beloved Prophetess Eunice, but it would take too much time. My daughter Victoria was 15 months old when I put her into the daycare center that MOTHER CHEKWA was overseer of. I first encountered her heart, her beautiful smile and her loving spirit. There was never a time that I couldn't reach out to her and she was too busy for me. Victoria and I will forever be grateful grateful for her prayers, her lovingkindness and her faithfulness as a SPIRITUAL MOM to us. Poppa Chekwa and family we love you all. God is Great and greatly to be praised.

Aunt Eunice...... I find it truly hard to believe that you are not with us anymore. Every single memory I have of you always showed how pleasant and solution-driven you were.
It was never about perfection with you but for people to be the best version of themselves.
I remember when you came for my wedding and showed tremendous grace to everyone you came in contact with.
Everytime we spoke on the phone, you encouraged me and always reminded me to put God first in everything I did.
You always had a peaceful demeanor about you no matter the circumstances.
Aunt Eunice ...You are truly a blessing and as you watch from heaven, may God's blessings on your life continue with your children and loved ones. It is well ......

I remember her as being one of the kindest, sweetest, and loving individuals that I have ever had the opportunity of meeting and getting to know. She was selfless and always remained a voice of reason in difficult situations. The world has truly lost a great person.
She will be sorely missed.
