On April 5 2021, Everette H. Fischer loving husband, father, Citrus Grower and General Manager of Winter Garden Citrus Growers Assn., passed way. Born in Gotha Florida to German families who had made their way to Florida, his love and services to both the Church and citrus agriculture flourished.

As a young boy working with his uncles, he learned the art of citrus caretaking by hand. After finishing school at Gotha Ocoee & Orlando (OHS), he moved his studies to the University of Florida (Gainesville), after which, he worked as a county assist agent helping farmers in the Ocala area. In 1962, before the “62 Freeze”, he became the Grove Caretaking Manager of Winter Garden Citrus Growers Assn. So sorry for the loss of your husband and father!
Almost 40 years as personal secretary is a long time, and today I say goodbye to my boss and my friend. This is a tribute to a great man with a big and generous heart. Through the years he encouraged, helped and assisted many of his employees. He was never above listening to someone's problems and offering assistance. He genuinely cared for those who worked for WGCGA. The employee Christmas dinners and picnics were highlights of the year. Everette was a highly principled man of faith, honesty, integrity and fairness, wholly devoted to God, his church and his family. He centered his life around a close contact with his Savior and always tried to follow God's commands. My entire family thought of Everette as a friend. My daughters, 4 and 5, when I began working at WGCGA always considered Mr. Fischer as their family. Everette and Joyce were often included in and invited to family events. We will all miss him very much!

Everette aka Mr. Fischer...Thank you so much for allowing me to work a schedule that I could raise my 2 girls. They were 6 and 3 when I started working for you. Now they are 35 and 32. Because you allowed me to bring them to work (and entertain you and share Happy Meals) I feel it helped me spend as much time as I could to help raise them to be who they are today. Terry and I will forever be grateful. God Speed Everette! We will remember you...

We loved Everette. He was so passionate about Zion, and sharing God's love with all those who walked through the doors, especially the children. He would do anything to help out, just don't touch his trees! He enjoyed showing us which of the trees in the back would produce good fruit and which were sour. We would fill bags of oranges and tangerines from those trees!

He will be missed so much! We are praying for you all, for God's peace and comfort in this time, knowing that Everette is now with our Lord singing praises to him as he did every Sunday while he walked this Earth.

God's Peace,
The Gusewelle Family
