Born in 1935, Harry graduated from Lakeview High School in 1954, having received many awards while playing basketball and baseball for school. He was known for his athletic skills and his love of basketball.
He worked at the Continental Can plant for 56 years and retired in 2009. For 39 of those years, he drove the same yellow truck to and from work, and most Winter Garden residents would recognize him as he gave a friendly wave out the window.
Harry had a deep love for horses and owned more than ten including colts and foals. He won over 30 awards and was Grand Champion twice at Clarcona Horseman’s Park in Apopka, Florida. He was also president of the Florida Galiceno Horse Breeders Association.
Harry was a long-time member of the Fellowship Bible Study Church in Winter Garden Florida. He often shared with the congregation original poems he wrote to express his love for the Lord.
His proudest love was his wife, Nelda. Spending time with her, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at family events or just visiting at home made him happiest.
He is survived by his brother Gene Fleming (Joyce) three sons, Richard Fleming (Toni), Paul Fleming (Kim), Jason Fleming (Virnnett) and eleven grandchildren: Erik Fleming, Elisabeth Nice, Emilee McCluskey, Stephen Fleming, Landon Fleming, Alison Stery, Kaitlyn Cherif, Abigail Fleming, Nathon Fleming, Brent Casey, Rachael Hendrixson, and five great-grandchildren: Karys Nice, Jesson Nice, Bentley McCluskey, Mya Stery, and Landon Casey.
Harry is preceded by death by his wife of 67 years Nelda Fleming, and his parents, Coley Fleming and Myrtle Fleming
