Born on July 15, 1942, James lived a life full of love and quiet strength. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 63 years, Raleen Huhne; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Pam Huhne; his daughter and son-in-law, Emily Huhne and Basil Valdivia; and his cherished grandchildren: Bella, Mason, Henry and Avery.
James adored his grandchildren and treasured the moments with them. Whether it was watching old black-and-white movies, sharing laughs over pancakes at Denny’s or being the reliable school pickup in the old blue truck, he was a constant and loving presence in their lives.
James loved to golf with his son and wife spending time walking the course. He was a licensed pilot and flight instructor, always eager to share his knowledge and love for aviation and spent many hours at the Vandenberg Airport in Tampa, even taking a lucky grandchild for a flight on occasion.
James was a man of faith, a devout Catholic and a proud Vietnam veteran. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Fly among the stars in God’s care.
A mass will be celebrated in his honor on Tuesday, November 25, at 10:00AM at Resurrection Catholic Church located at 1121 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
