Jack was born December 6, 1932, in Ocean City, NJ. He was the son of the late Leslie and Catherine Geisinger. Jack enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and fought in the Korean War. He subsequently attended the University of Illinois on an Army ROTC scholarship and earned a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering.
Jack served on active duty in the U.S. Army for 22 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1978. His military accolades include a professorship at the United States Military Academy at West Point, two combat tours in Vietnam, and two tours in Korea (one during the Korean War and one as a battalion commander). His top awards include the Legion of Merit, three Bronze Star Medals, and the Air Medal. Upon his retirement from the Army, Jack returned to the private sector, first working in communications and security, and most recently involved in auto racing with IMSA SportsCar Championship series with Team Lexus.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Velma (Kaufmann Geisinger); his older brother, Charles “Chuck” Vincent; his children, James (Pamela) Geisinger, David (Michelle) Geisinger, Karen (Patrick) Connors; his grandchildren Nicholas Geisinger, Melody Geisinger, Colleen (Nick) Martin, Kelly (Joel) Shows; and three great grandchildren, Angelina Servider, Savannah Martin, Trip Shows.
Jack was a dedicated husband of 69 years and a much-loved father who will be deeply missed. He leaves a strong legacy that will impact many generations to come.
There will be a private burial at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 1:00p on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Baldwin-Fairchild Winter Garden Funeral Home, 428 E Plant St, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
