John Michael Jackson

John was united in Holy Matrimony with Brenda M. Jackson on March 29, 1969 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in York. Their union is blessed with one child, Michelle (Shelly) Jackson Martini.

John was employed by Voith, previously known as Allis Chalmers, for 19 years while living in Seven Valleys. He started his career as a Machinist and prior to moving to Central Florida in August of 1988, John was a Senior Cost Analysts. After moving to Florida, John was employed by United Space Alliance (USA) where he was a Cost Analyst for the space shuttle program for 20 years before retiring in 2009.

In his leisure, John enjoyed boating, playing cards with friends, driving his corvette with the top down while listening to the oldies and during retirement actually became a good golfer.

John Michael Jackson departed this life on July 12, 2014 after a year long battle with lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Addison Jackson and June Dielh Jackson, along with his beloved wife Brenda Jackson. He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle (Shelly) and Joseph Martini; his brothers, Douglas and Dennis Jackson; and his grandchildren, Samantha and Ryan Martini as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2014 between 11:00am and 2:00pm at Grace Fellowship located at 1405 Seven Valleys Road, York PA 17408. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s name may be made to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Florida 32778.
