Joseph "Joey" Strevell

Joseph (Joey) Strevell, passed away at the age of 78 on July 28, 2018 in Winter Garden, Florida. Joseph was born on June 27, 1940 in Albany, NY to the late Joseph and Ann (Sultan) Strevell, and is a graduate of Columbia High School, East Greenbush, NY. Joseph Served in both the 101st Airborne Division (1957-1960), and the 82nd Airborne (1961-1962), prior to working in the construction industry for over 45 years for such companies as Thompson Construction and S.J.Groves & Sons as a structural superintendent, specializing in the construction of bridges, highways and hydroelectric dams, and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 370. Joey recently retired from Disney in 2016, most recently as part of the Facilities Asset Management team, but during his time there he was also instrumental in the construction of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and was an integral part of the Disney infrastructure team. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Joanie (Grover) Strevell, his sons Joseph (Mary) Strevell and Chauncey (Heather) Strevell, granddaughters Nicole (Bob) Childrose and Maya Manfred, and siblings Ronald Strevell, Matthew Strevell and Joanne Boyd. He is also survived by his beloved German Shepard Bella.

Friends and family can pay their respects at a memorial service to be held at the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 428 East Plant Street, Winter Garden, Florida on Saturday, August 18th from 4-7 pm.
