Lelynna Marie Langdoc

Lelynna Marie Soldner Langdoc, age 74, of Clermont, FL, peacefully passed away on September 25, 2023, in Clermont, FL. She was born on July 27, 1949, to Leland and Wanda Horsley Soldner. After being raised in Marion, IL she attended Deaconess School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO. It was while attending nursing school that she met and fell in love with her husband of 53 years, Jim. Lelynna was a nurturing and compassionate individual who brought joy and kindness to those around her. She had a fun-loving spirit and was known for her generosity. She was an incredible mom to her two children, Heather and Jason, and “second mom” to so many of their friends over the years. Lelynna shared a very special relationship crafted in love and laughter with her only grandchild, Aine.

Lelynna's professional career was defined by her dedication as a Registered Nurse. Over her 48 years as a nurse she devoted herself to caring for others, specializing in pediatrics, newborn nursery, and serving as Director of Nursing at several nursing homes. Her gentle and nurturing demeanor brought comfort to countless patients throughout the years. Additionally, Lelynna shared her nurturing spirit as a devoted nanny, providing care and support to children, ensuring their well-being and happiness. Lelynna’s wishes to further research in medicine will be honored by her donation to the University of Florida Human Brain & Tissue Bank.

In her free time, Lelynna enjoyed pursuing various hobbies. She had a green thumb and took pleasure in gardening and creating beautiful floral arrangements. Lelynna also had a talent for knitting, creating heartfelt throw blankets. She was an avid sports fan, particularly passionate about ice hockey, supporting both the St. Louis Blues and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Lelynna also followed the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. She loved to travel, explore new places, and immerse herself in different cultures. She loved movies, musical theater, and art. Lelynna found solace in reading and was a member of the P.E.O. organization. She was also a devoted fan of Barry Manilow and his music.

Lelynna will be deeply missed by her loved ones. She is survived by her husband, James Langdoc; her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Vinnie Petri; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Meagan Langdoc; her granddaughter, Aine Campion; her sister and brother-in-law, Miledda and Randy Edmonds; her sister-in-law, Rhonda Soldner; her sister-in-law, Tharon Carlene Langdoc; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lelynna was preceded in death by her father, Leland Soldner; her mother, Wanda Horsley Soldner; her father-in-law, Albert Langdoc; her mother-in-law, Nell Huston Langdoc; her brother, Keith Soldner; her sister-in-law and her husband, Barbara Langdoc Leicht and Rod Leicht; her brother-in-law, Carl Langdoc; and her great-nephew, Micah Soldner.

A celebration of Lelynna's life will be held on October 14, 2023 at Zion United Church of Christ, 930 W. Cherry St., Marion, IL 62959. Visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Service will be at 1:00 PM.
