Marian Irene Murray

May 5, 1939October 31, 2018

Marian I. Murray of Ocoee, FL passed away on October 31 surrounded by family at home. Marian was born in Vassar, MI and was proud of her Michigan heritage, though she considered herself a Floridian after living for 32 years in and around Orlando. One of her favorite pastimes was cheering on her beloved Michigan Wolverine sports teams and walking her dog, Zoey.

Marian loved her family the most and was devoted to her husband, son, and his family. She was married to her husband Dennis J. Murray for 56 wonderful years and described him as her best friend. Marian was a special Mom to Stephen J. Murray and supportive of his family; wife, Lisa and grandchildren, Emily and David. She will forever be known as Nana to her loving family.

She is also survived by an older brother, Stanley Burkowski, of Millington, MI and a younger sister and brother; Dorothy Crawford of Lake Ogemaw, MI and Robert Burkowski of Vassar, MI; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marian was a long-time active, practicing member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando and a Funeral Mass in her honor will be celebrated there on Thursday, November 8 at 8:30AM. An interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, FL. A reception will be held at 10:30-12:30 at their residence in Ocoee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Orlando Humane Society.

Dear Dennis, I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't been at Holy Family for a few years now, but I just heard about Marian. I always liked her very much, she was always so sweet and funny at practice. You and your family will be in my prayers.
Love, Rose Brill

I have so many wonderful memories of my dear aunt growing up, from our many trips to Ohio to visit over the years. My favorite memory now though looking back wasn't a very good time for me. We were on our annual visit and I had gotten a sunburn, which wasn't unusual for me, but this was the worst burn I had ever gotten up to that point in my life. I was in so much pain and also nauseous and she took care of me like my own mother would, waiting on me hand and foot. I could feel the love and compassion so much that it actually helped subdue the pain. That was just the type of person she was though and I'm sure she would have done that for anyone. It was something that I never forgot and had never been treated so well, not before or since that time.
I loved her, uncle Denny, and Steve so much and just feel so bad that those annual visits stopped, they were some of my fondest memories growing up.
My heart aches for you uncle Denny, Steve, Lisa, Emily, and David. I wish I could be their to express my condolences and to help in any way possible. I know how hard it is to loose someone so close to you and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love and prayers,
Scott Hubbard

Denny & Stephen,

Lindsay shared with me the passing of Marian. She was such a wonderful Aunt to Lindsay, making sure that Lindsay had a connection to the Burkowski family always. The memories are many for Lindsay.

My thoughts & prayers are with you. You can rejoice that Marian is no longer in physical suffering and is the glory of the Lord in Heaven.

My respects,

Lisa Nelson
