Willie served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was very proud of his service to the country he loved so dearly. His family will fondly remember him singing "I'm proud to be an American". After his service, he went on to become an Accountant. When not working or spending time with his family, Willie enjoyed bowling, crosswords, and working on model planes. He attended St. Mathews Catholic Church where he was a parishioner for over 40 years.
Willie is survived by his loving wife Betty May, daughters Cheryl (and Jim), Lisa (and Phil), and Laura (and James),and sons Jeff and Bob (and Karen) along with his grandchildren Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Amanda, Jeffery, Jake, Jenny, Chris, Christina, Adam, Patrick and Daniel. Willie also leaves behind his great grandchildren Skylee, Tyler, Corbin, Sophie, Matthew and Alexandra along with his sister Nancy and a multitude of extended family members and friends.
He was a loving husband, an awesome dad, and wonderful Papa Willie who will be missed dearly. We love you so much!!!!!! Can't imagine life without you.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Willie’s name to a Veterian's charity or charity of your choice.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00am on Friday, June 3, 2019 at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
