Pharmacy Co-Owner
Catherine Jean (Vandever)
Johns, beloved wife and
mother passed to her eternal
home on September 6.
Born in Winter Haven on June
14, 1927, she graduated from
WHHS in 1945. She was a
bookkeeper for WH Citrus
Growers. After helping put her
husband through Pharmacy
school at UF, they started
Vandever-Johns Pharmacy in
1950, which they owned and
operated for 35 years.
Catherine worked in the office
for the Boston Red Sox for
many years during Spring train-
ing. Her greatest devotion was
to her family and church. She was
a charter member of WH Christian
Church, taught Sunday School
and played piano in Children’s
Church for 40 years.
Catherine is survived by her hus-
band of 72 years, Raymond, and
three daughters: Lana Johns, Susan
Johns, Cindy Reynolds (Rabun)
and granddaughter, Lauren Reynolds.
