WINTER HAVEN - Charles Gladius Peterson, 90, of Winter Haven, passed away August 5, 2012 due to CHF.
Born in Minneapolis, MN, he graduated from North High School with his lifelong friends, Robert Pettes (class of '40) and Robert Kenning (class of '41). After serving in the Coast Guard during WWII, Charlie became a truck dispatcher. He enjoyed stamp collecting, singing opera, fishing and eating chocolate!
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Joanne, Charlie is survived by his son Ross Peterson of Orlando; grandson Jarrod Peterson of Orlando; sister-in-law Marguerite Totka of Lady Lake; niece Terri Boyd of Auburndale; nephew Michael D. Totka of Ocala; nieces LaDonna Selzer of MN and JoEllen Schmidt of WI; grand nieces Christie Bhageloe, Heather Rawlins, Meredith Ayoub, and Alice Owens; and grand nephews Michael J. Totka, William Selzer, Thomas Peterson and Steven Peterson.
Memorial service will be at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 W. Central Ave., Winter Haven, FL, on August 12 at 2pm.
