

On December 30, 1961, Charles was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rose Gail Whaley. Together, they shared many years of devotion until her passing.
A hardworking man, Charles retired as a maintenance mechanic from Cargill Fertilizer, where his dedication and skill earned the respect of his colleagues. Outside of his career, he found joy in home projects and gardening, always taking pride in creating and nurturing.
He was a faithful member of Village Church of God in Winter Haven, where he worshiped and served the Lord with his family.
Charles will be deeply missed by his sons, Mark (Melinda), Steven (Samantha), David (Lynn), and Christopher; his grandchildren, Lance Polston, Taylor (Tori) Polston, Emily (Brantley) Chappell, Kaleb Polston, Brian Dickey, Savannah Laine, and Jeremiah Polston; and his great-grandchildren, Tanner Wadley and Emma Dickey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Alto and Fellie Mae Polston; his beloved wife, Rose Gail Polston; and his grandson, Robert Dickey.
A funeral service honoring Charles’s life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by the service at Village Church of God, 6 Coleman Road, Winter Haven, FL. Interment will follow at Eagle Lake Cemetery.
Charles’s life was marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and the simple joys of working with his hands. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
