Clifford served in the Navy for 28 years and was a Chief upon retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife Ruth Love, daughters Kimberly and Wendi, granddaughter Rachel, brother Victor "Skip", sisters Phyllis, Marjorie, and Nancy, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mildred Root, and one brother, Philip.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Westwood Missionary Baptist Church, 3210 Ave G NW #1, Winter Haven, Florida 33880, on September 19, 2026, at 11:00 am.
