

Donald McLaren Sr., 80, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026. He was born on March 5, 1946, to the late Thomas and Katherine McLaren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen McLaren.
Donald was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He owned and operated Leisure Fence and also spent many years driving for several over-the-road trucking companies. He was a dedicated volunteer fireman with the Oak Hill Fire Department, where he gave his time helping others and serving his community.
Donald was a family man above all else. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen McLaren, who passed away on February 14, 2012. Together, they built a family that meant everything to him.
He is survived by his children, Dawn D'Amato (Anthony), Kelly Cooley (Matt), and Donald McLaren Jr. (Josie).
He was a proud papa to his grandchildren, Dylan Cooley, Ashley (Cooley) Pistolesi, Vincenzo D'Amato, Gianni D'Amato, Gabrielle (McLaren) Perkins, Brianna McLaren, and Julie McLaren, and a loving great-grandfather to his great-granddaughter, Eliana Pistolesi.
Donald is also survived by his siblings, Catherine (McLaren) Ritterbusch, James McLaren, Idabelle (McLaren) Wright, and Ruthie (McLaren) Randolph. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas McLaren Jr.
To those who knew him, Donald was so much more than a hardworking man and community volunteer. He was a good dad and papa, a brother, a husband, and a friend. He loved his family deeply and treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
He will be remembered for the life he built, the people he helped, and most of all, the love he gave his family. He was loved more than words can say and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest peacefully, Dad. You will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be a part of us.
