

Dorothy was married to Robert E. Pluckebaum on July 16, 1949, and together they shared many happy years of marriage. She worked as a secretary for Henderson Trucking Company and was known for her caring nature and dedication to her family.
Dorothy enjoyed staying active and spending time outdoors. She was an avid walker and swimmer and loved watching sports, especially NFL football. She was a devoted Chicago Bears and White Sox fan and enjoyed attending horseshoe tournaments to watch her husband compete. Dorothy also loved traveling with her husband and cherished trips to Disney World. Known for her generous heart, she often opened her home to family members in need and was always willing to care for others.
She was a member of St. Hugh Catholic Church in Lyons, Illinois.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Wally Wojciechowski, III (Sherry), Denise Wheeler, Tina Press (John), John Trobl (Nettie), Bruce Trobl, Diane Jankiewicz (Michael), Janice Kasperski, and Cindy Rilo (Joe), as well as cousin Vivian Bosi.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert E. Pluckebaum; daughter Rosemarie Pluckebaum, siblings Richard Trobl and his wife Lillian, John Trobl and his wife Dorothy, Robert Trobl, Lorraine Wojciechowski and her husband Walter, Lillian Dedic and her husband William, and Evelyn Noffsinger and her husband Lynn, brother in law Edwin Pluckebaum and sister in law Mary Pluckebaum, as well as nephews Gary Wheeler and Tom Kasperski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Dorothy’s memory.
Visitation will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 West Central Ave, Winter Haven, Florida 33880, US, on March 12, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM.
Dorothy will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
