Winter Haven, Florida – Eileen O’Leary, a renowned artist and cherished family historian, passed away on January 9th, 2025, less than a week shy of her 82nd birthday. Predeceased by her parents and her beloved niece, Peggy Seigler, Eileen leaves a void in the hearts of the many lives she touched.
Eileen was a force of nature. In her youth, she was a gifted athlete, dominating the tennis courts and achieving state championships. She was a passionate artist who generously shared her talents, and a devoted sports fan, cheering on her beloved tennis players, golfers, and college football teams. Evenings were often spent with friends, enjoying classic films and tales of the history of the area.
More than her accomplishments, Eileen was the keeper of family history, meticulously preserving precious memories and photographs. With her passing, a chapter of our family's story fades, as her unique ability to weave captivating narratives of those who settled in Central Florida is lost. A lifelong animal lover, Eileen often found solace in the company of her furry companions.
Eileen will be deeply missed by her family: J. Patrick and Sam O'Leary, her niece Winnie O’Leary, and nephews Jimmy and Bannon O’Leary, and Jason Seigler. She leaves behind her great nieces Georgia and Tessa O’Leary, and great nephews Riley O’Leary, William and Jacob Seigler, all of whom she adored. Her beloved cat, Peppermint, will also mourn her loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Peggy O'Leary Seigler Scholarship, a testament to Eileen's enduring love for her niece and her commitment to education.
Aunt Eye's strength, her vibrant spirit, and her love for her family will forever be cherished and remembered.
