Frederick lived most of his life in Washington, Maryland areas; served his country in the United States Army and retired from the Goddard Space Center in Greenbelt, MD. He began his retirement absorbed in his much loved hobbies of crabbing, and gardening; not to forget his love of music and singing.
Frederick leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Sadie Downing; two endeared daughters, Evette Cynthea Woolford and Felicia Downing; two sons, Frederick Lovell Downing, Jr. and Christopher Downing; Four step-sons, Tyrone, Jason, Rodney, and Victor; son-in-law, Leroy Woolford, daughter-in-laws Rita Pitts and three others; a sister, Mittie Moore and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, close relatives and friends.
Frederick lived faithfully his walk with God; always mindful of his relationship with his Father and quick to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many were the times he lifted his arm above his head, pointing his index finger towards heaven and joyfully demonstrating that he was heaven bound and he was going.
Beloved Freddy is deeply missed in so many ways; various places, times, sayings, behaviors, and activities.
