Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Smith Clark, who passed away on June 10, 2010. He is survived by his longtime partner, Sally Leeder; his daughter, Cher Clark Lynch, and her husband, Sean Lynch, of Spring, Texas; and his four grandchildren, Cameron Cooper, Mollie Lynch, Madelyn Lynch, and John Lynch. He also held a special place in his heart for his bonus grandchildren, Charlie and Max Sills of Orlando.
Glenn proudly served in the United States Army, where he received numerous accolades and was honorably discharged. He was a graduate of Bossier High School in Bossier City, Louisiana, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Human Relations. Throughout his life, he brought dedication, curiosity, and a genuine interest in people to everything he pursued.
After more than 30 years in sales and management, Glenn retired in 2013. Retirement gave him the opportunity to enjoy many of the things that brought him happiness, including rebuilding pocket watches, a craft that suited his meticulous eye and patient hands. He also loved a good trip to Home Depot, even if it was “just to look.”
Perhaps most of all, Glenn will be remembered for his gift of conversation and connection. He was a talker in the best possible way and truly never met a stranger. He wanted to know about you, and he wanted you to know about his family. He loved staying connected with his family in Houston and took great pride in sharing stories about the people he loved most.
As family and friends reflect on Glenn’s life, they celebrate the kindness, warmth, and enthusiasm he shared so freely with others. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Glenn’s memory.
A private committal service with military honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
Family and friends will be warmly invited to gather and honor Glenn’s life at a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
Glenn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
