HELEN ELIZABETH (Urquhart) McINTOSH
LAKELAND - Helen Elizabeth (Urquhart) McIntosh died peacefully at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by family on November 30, 2017 in Lakeland, FL at the age of 91.
She was a committed Christian woman who touched the lives of most everyone she met. She was kind, full of grace, committed to her church and proudly boasted of having the most beautiful family ever.
Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Henry Tucker of Lakeland, FL, grandchildren Angie Byers of Gainesville, FL, Tim and Denise Broom of Gainesville, FL, Christina and Dean Hall of Ormond Beach, FL, Jesse Tucker of Tampa, FL, great-grandchildren John Byers of Houston, TX, Mary Charles Byers of Dallas, TX, Harmonie Burney of Greenville, SC, Haven Burney of St. Augustine, FL, Mary Madelyn Broom, Avery Broom and Austin Broom all of Gainesville. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Howard E. McIntosh and their daughter Sharon J. Cain. She was the beloved older sister of Merle Green and Annie Ruth Daniel and beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Helen was born on November 22, 1926 in Bonifay, FL to Sam Benjamin Urquhart and Ora Mae Hicks. She moved to Polk County in 1943. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed preparing elaborate meals for family and friends. She was an active member of Eagle Lake Assembly for many decades and loved her church family. She was an avid reader who read her Bible daily and could quote her favorite verses until the end. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family and we were fortunate to celebrate her birthday and Thanksgiving all together.
The family will receive visitors at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 W Central Ave, Winter Haven today 2pm to 4pm. A service in celebration of her life will be held at Eagle Lake Assembly of God on Sunday at 2pm. Interment for the family will follow.
