What a honor to be a son in law of this wonderful man. When I first met your daughter Linda, I was amazed at what a great Dad and Mother she had.

You truly were an awesome father to the family . A great friend to all of us, and always a barrel of laughs. Great cook, one of the USArmy's best.

Thank you for all you did for our country, family, and our God his son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Rest in peace in hlHis presence.

I came into your home 35 years ago to date your daughter. Being retired Army, you still welcomed this young Air Force Sargent with open arms.

You and the rest of the Hoffman clan opened your home, lives, and love to this young buck who was afraid of what he was getting into.

I look back and you became a second father to me. Your comforting advice and gentle nudges are always fondly remembered. I can never recall an angry word from you.

From the rolling of your own cigarettes, sitting at the dinning room table telling stories of Germany, and all the wonderful stories of years past. I will cherish my time with you and always remember your giving heart.

Play the slots in heaven and enjoy the jackpot.

Dad ,
I remember when I first came into this family. You told me that for me to be in this family I’ve gotta dunk with my coffee. ( Cookies, doughnuts etc .)Well Dad It’ll be 40 years this year, and guess what? I still don’t dunk! We’ve been looking after you for a little over ten years. And the last 18 months, had its ups & downs but we sure have a lot of Great memories! We love you Dad Rest In Peace. Heaven knows you deserve it.

Dad, Well they finally opened the door and let you in. You taught me a strong work ethic by example. I finally learned there were more then just three tools in a tool box. "red handled screwdriver, plier-clamps, and the needle nose pliers."

My fondest memory is how proud you were when Joe, Ken and I received our 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus with you. You will be missed and always in my thoughts.
Love your #2 son, Tommy

Dad,
You will be truly missed.

You taught me so much over the years such as: never walk away from a fight as long you don’t start it and don’t come home crying.

Our talks on the phone, watching and discussing the Hallmark channels movies, talking sports/politics (which sometimes we disagreed) and the many visits you made to helping with our Halloween Haunted houses will be missed. And of course our trips on the gambling boats and casinos.

You left me and our family very wonderful memories to last a life time.

Love,
Jo-Ann Hoffman Mathes

Grippy,
I remember the Ray's games on Sundays and the many conversations about life. I was blessed to have been part of you life and to enjoy your company. I know you are smiling, joking and playing cards with all those you missed in Heaven. Until we meet again.

To the Hoffman family, particularly Joe Hoffman and Heather & Ray, and Caroline and Alexis:
I am so sorry your "Peapa" had to leave this world and all his family. I am sure he is in being well taken care of in Heaven with all the angels. I know you will grieve for the absence of him but you had him for a long time. His life was a long and fulfilled life. He had his children, grandchildren, great grand children and his great-great grand children to fill his life. He will surely be missed. But death is a part of life we all have to face and it sounds like he faced it the way he wanted to. God give you peace and comfort in this time of sorrow.
