Jesse "Monroe" Tarvin, Jr. passed away on May 24th, 2014 in Winter Haven. He was 68.
Born in Columbus, Georgia, Monroe served in the Air Force, including a tour in Vietnam, and worked as an air compressor technician. He is survived by his wife of eight years, Cathy Tarvin, brother Glenn Tarvin, daughter Carmen Bryant, son Robbie Tarvin, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Tarvin, mother Lucy (Parker) Tarvin, and father, Jesse Monroe Tarvin, Sr. Monroe was an outstanding cook who loved traveling, fishing, and shopping for bargains near his home in Lake Alfred. He was always happy to share a recipe, a laugh, or a deal with loved ones.
Visitation will take place Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven, Florida.
Graveside services on Friday at 2 PM at Rolling Hills Cemetery, Winter Haven, Florida.
